CELTA, from Cambridge English, is an intensive, practical teacher training programme that combines theory with hands-on experience.
You are required to attend the full course, complete 6 hours of assessed Teaching Practice, and undertake 4 written assignments that explore different aspects of English language teaching. In addition, you observe 6 hours of lessons taught by experienced teachers and in doing so, gain valuable insights into a range of classroom techniques and methodologies.
Throughout the course, you teach real learners, our Teaching Practice (TP) students, in a supportive, supervised environment. This experience encourages you to apply new skills in authentic classroom settings, receive constructive feedback from experienced trainers, and progressively develop confidence and competence as an English language teacher.
