"It really feels like the teachers value and want to hear your thoughts and opinions on the topics. They're always doing everything they can to incorporate student interests, try new things and different ways to make the classes fun and exciting for you, which is really amazing!”

Study Visits

At St Clare’s, learning takes place beyond the classroom. Our study visits deepen understanding, spark curiosity, and connect you with real world ideas and innovation.

Recent academic visits have included lectures at the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government and Oxford Martin School, visits to the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics, explorations of Oxford’s many museums, colleges, and historic buildings, behind-the-scenes tours of the BMW Mini Plant, and a visit to Blenheim Palace.

These experiences help you engage with cutting-edge research, global issues, and Oxford’s cultural heritage — all while building confidence and broadening your perspective.

Seminar Series

Since its inception in 2000, the St Clare’s Seminar Series has provided an opportunity for students to explore a stimulating range of issues and ideas. Each semester the series is linked by a common theme. Themes in previous years have included ‘Myths and Dreams’, ‘Culture and Power’, ‘Rebels and Martyrs’. These weekly talks allow you to experience university-level study, explore the relationships between different areas of knowledge and reflect on subjects beyond your chosen courses.
